Valdano leave Real

The Steering Committee of the Real Madrid sporting director Jorge fired Valdano at a special meeting Wednesday. Confrontational relations with Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is behind this decision. The Portuguese now has full authority to the Real.
Jose Mourinho is definitely one to run in Madrid. The steering committee decided to dismiss Real Jorge Valdano, the club's sporting director merengue, following a meeting Wednesday night. "The board decided to replace the sports leadership headed by Jorge Valdano, and now under the responsibility of Jorge Angel Sanchez. We have reached an agreement to terminate our contractual relationship with Valdano," said president Florentino Perez in conference Press, adding that "his pain" to see from Valdano and "feelings" staff could never be "an obstacle to his work."
Valdano's departure is no surprise. His relationship with Jose Mourinho was never really in good shape, and they deteriorated throughout the season. Relationship difficulties led Argentina after the match in Almeria, at a time when Madrid coach seeking to recruit a center-forward against the advice of its leaders. "It was a new one here, but it is on the bench," he had launched on Canal + Spain, referring to Karim Benzema, not used by Mourinho for this meeting. The sentence had not fallen in deaf ears, and the Portuguese had requested that Valdano does more traveling with the first team, he no longer attends trainings in Valdebebas and that he has not access to the locker room for the matches at Santiago Bernabeu. "There were a series of failures this season, Perez acknowledged. With a coach as powerful as the one we have, our decision was to restructure the club on an English model."
"I did not convert Real into a battlefield"
Conflictual relations between the two men could not go on to Madrid. And the steering committee decided in favor of Mourinho. "This is not a condition set by Mourinho is a restructuring that the club should be in its interest," insisted Florentino Perez, who has long tried to retain that which was his right arm for many seasons. Former Real Madrid player (1984-1987) and coach of the Madrid club between 1994 and 1996, with a title of champion of Spain in the key, Valdano was appointed sporting director by President Madrid in his first term in 2000 . The Argentinian has retained this position until 2006, before the return in 2009 to return to the head of Perez's Real. By agreeing to separate from Valdano, a year after the departures of two executives of the locker room in Madrid, Raul and Guti, Perez allowed Mourinho to full power in Madrid. The Portuguese will have to live up to this enormous responsibility. And if that fails, he will have no excuse.
Valdano did not hide his bitterness after his dismissal. The now former sporting director at Real did not want to appear alongside Florentino Perez during the press conference. He shared his impressions after the passage of the Real president. "I did not convert Real into a battlefield. This whole season has been an effort to contain for me. Effort prudence, responsibility and respect for the institution. The press was presented as a battle and tried to escape because I respect this club and he taught me a lot. I wanted to live up to its greatness, "said Valdano. "I do not know the intentions of Mourinho. I just wanted us to meet all three with the president to stop all this noise, but it was not possible. It's been long since I have not spoken to Mourinho . He asked what my responsibility in the first team to be reduced, he got it. I do not like this situation, "he said before leaving the newsroom Bernabeu.
